A kinetic switch works without mains power, so can be positioned anywhere within range of the receiver. Ideal for those old houses where the light switch is behind the door. Another common use is where LED strip is added as a feature in addition to the main lighting, in this scenario, the kinetic switch can provide semi permanent control of the feature lighting.
