Dimmable Drivers

Dimmable drivers are used to adjust the brightness of Single Colour or Dim‑to‑Warm LED strip lighting. They give you the flexibility to create different moods, scenes, and levels of ambience in any room. This makes them a popular choice for both homes and commercial spaces.

For simple installations, dimmable drivers usually work with a rotary or slide dimmer. Trailing‑edge and leading‑edge dimmable drivers are compatible with standard wiring, so if you want to replace a normal light switch with a dimmer, this is the type of driver you need.
You can also control leading/trailing‑edge dimmers through the TUYA app, a remote, or a wall controller when paired with the LLT‑S1TR. However, if you want to dim LED strip directly from the TUYA app or a smart controller, a Non Dimmable Driver paired with the LLT‑WT51 is the better long‑term option. Both setups offer the same functionality, but the LLT‑WT51 gives you easier upgrade paths. For example, using the LLT-WT51, if you later switch from single‑colour strip to RGBW, you only need to replace the strip. If you’ve used the LLT-S1RT, you’ll need to replace the strip, driver and receiver.

Always match your dimmable driver with a compatible LED dimmer to ensure smooth, flicker‑free performance.

Always over rate your driver by 10-20%. This helps minimise the effects of volt drop.
